Subject: SAP R/3
Hello everyone,
I work in Collection Development at the Queens Borough Public
Library (QBPL). QBPL is in the midst of installing and
configuring SAP R/3 enterprise software. Right now, the
Materials Management module (business-speak for acquisitions)
is being implemented in Collection Development.
SAP R/3 is primarily designed for businesses. SAP has shown
interest recently in working more with the public sector,
but I have heard that Queens is the first library to install
this software.
Can this be true? If you know of a library that is working with
SAP, please email me off list with the name of this institution.
And if your library has installed or is in the process of installed
SAP, please email me so we can share suggestions, concerns,
and triumphs.
