I've been looking over a great book by one of my erstwhile library
school professors, John McCrossan. It's titled: Books and Reading
in the Lives of Notable Americans, and I think it's a good one.

Dr. McCrossan's book is aimed at 5th grade through adult. It has a nice
angle because the book profiles the reading habits, the
love of reading, the effects of reading on the lives of many Americans
from early times to the present. It includes such diverse people as Ben
Franklin, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Helen Keller, Eleanor Roosevelt,
Ronald Reagan, Martin Luther King, Jr, Albert Einstein, and Rachel
Carson. It also includes a number of modern celebrities from sports and
entertainment, such as Marilyn Monroe, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Humphrey
Bogart, Sandra Cisneros, and Oprah Winfrey.

I'd be curious what others think of the title ...
