I need to make a correction on the Communication Bibliographer and
Reference Librarian position which was sent out last week.  The CORRECT
SALARY RANGE for the position should be "$35,000-$40,000 annually or more,
depending on qualifications and experience".

Communication Bibliographer and Reference Librarian
Reference and Information Services Department
The General Libraries  The University of Texas at Austin

The Communication Bibliographer and Reference Librarian is responsible for
collection development, liaison and communication with faculty and
students, and library instruction for the College of Communication.
Reference service responsibilities include providing reference desk
services, referral and appointment, and distance information services.
Reference and Information Services Department responsibilities include
participation in development of print and electronic reference collections
and new types of services.  The position reports to the Head Librarian,
Main Library Services Division.

The Reference and Information Services Department, located in the
Perry-Castaneda Library, the main library of the University of Texas at
Austin General Libraries, (http://www.lib.utexas.edu), emphasizes the
social sciences, humanities, business and education.  The College of
Communication (http://www.utexas.edu/coc/), the largest and most
comprehensive program of its kind, serves approximately 3,700 undergraduate
and 500 graduate students and includes the departments of Advertising,
Communication Sciences and Disorders, Journalism, Radio-Television-Film,
Speech Communication and the Program in Public Relations.

Required Qualifications: MLS from an ALA accredited graduate program.
Experience providing reference or instruction services in a library.
Experience working in a changing environment of electronic information
resources and access systems.

Preferred Qualifications: Academic degree in mass communication or another
communication discipline.  Professional experience in an academic library.
Experience with collection development and department liaison.  Strong
public service orientation. Working knowledge of networked information
resources, search engines and Internet client software.  Experience with
multiple computer platforms and operating systems, HTML, and web
publishing.  Excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving
skills.  Ability to work independently and in a collegial and collaborative
manner in a fluid technical environment.  Demonstrated potential for
leadership in university, state, national and international programs and
initiatives.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary $35,000-$40,000 annually or more, depending on
qualifications and experience.  No state or local income tax.  Standard
