NOTE: This Discussion Group meets directly afterwards in the same room

Emotional Intelligence: What's in it for Librarians?

Join the Acquisitions Administrator's Discussion Group for a lively
discussion of "Emotional Intelligence" and it's role in your managerial
tool-kit.

A similar version of this topic was presented at the 1999 Charleston
Conference - here's your chance to hear about it if you missed that
one!

Some of the issues to be discussed are:
*Just what is "Emotional Intelligence?"
*How does it affect your management style?
*Why do we need it in the workplace?
*What role does "EI" play in your organization? In conflict resolution?
*What are the key elements and applications of EI?
*Can you teach this to your employees? Do you want to?

A discussion of these issues and others will be led by :
Eleanor I. Cook, Appalachian State University
Jack G. Montgomery, Western Kentucky University

Please bring your thoughts, ideas, stories and inspirations to the meeting
and join what should be a lively, informative and enjoyable discussion.
