Dear List Members,
You may remember I posted an announcement for a workshop MCB/Library Link
are holding during the ALA Midwinter meeting next month.
I am glad to say that many of you have shown an interest, however some have
mentioned that either you will not be at the ALA Midwinter or already have a
full schedule, but are interested in the outcomes.
For those that cannot attend the workshop there is an online discussion
running as a precursor to the workshop at
http://www.liblink.co.uk/discussion.html that everyone is invited to join.
Also the notes of the workshop will be posted here once they are ready. So
if you have any comments or questions to make on the topics covered then
this is your opportunity to make them, the topics are:
1. Is the article the unit of currency now or do we still want journals?
2. The value of secondary indexes on the web compared to full text search.
3. Marketing on campus: promoting electronic resources to end-users.
4. Real solutions for archiving - collaboration?
I look forward to reading your messages.
Yours
Chris Keenan
Executive: Library Link
PS A number of places are still available for the workshop, please contact
me if you would like to attend.
