Colldv-l:

1. Question: I have been told that many of the postings this month had ragged
right margins [one long line of text, then one very short line, over and over],
making the messages annoyingly difficult to read. I am not certain why this
happens. I am importing your messages into WordPerfect, manipulating the text
to cull the junk that the listproc introduces, and then pasting into Messenger
for posting to the list. I have recently lengthened the text line to 80
characters to avoid spuriously-introduced hard-returns and this has solved some
of the problems, but not all.

If you have insight into what is causing this phenomenon, please let me know
(directly at abbottjp_at_appstate.edu). It is suggested that the editing needs to
be done in a more 'primitive' text-based email package like Pine. ?????

2. Lynn will soon take over Colldv-l for November's CD conversation.

3. I misplaced 3 or 4 messages sent in late Oct or early Nov, and these
messages have been posted up to the list today. My regrets to the senders for
the delay.

Thanks for your indulgence during my learning curve.

See you in December,
