The Johnson County Library - a public library serving
310,000 people from
11 branches and a main library in the suburban Kansas City
area - is in the
process of revising our collection development plan. In the
past we have
used a heavily edited version of the intensity levels
described in the RLG
Collection Development Manual, Second Edition to help
determine collection
coverage in a set of designated subject areas and Dewey
classes.

Because we are not a research facility, this has never been
a good fit. Does anyone
know of a similar type of document developed specifically
for public
libraries? What are you currently using to define depth in
your
collections? Thanks.
