SCIENCE LIBRARIAN - LEHIGH UNIVERSITY

Lehigh University seeks an enterprising, client-oriented
Science
Librarian. The Science Librarian teaches information
literacy and
research skills to students;   provides expert research
support for
faculty and researchers; evaluates and selects print and
electronic
resources for curricular and research needs; provides
support for and
instruction in the development of online course materials;
advances the
creative use of Web resources in the sciences; and plays an
active role
in the development of electronic library services. The
consultant works
in a team environment with computing, instructional
technology, and
other library professionals under the direction of the team
leader for
the College of Arts and Sciences. Lehigh University offers
doctoral
programs across the sciences and has an outstanding record
of strong
print and electronic collection support for science
disciplines. 

Requisite background for the position includes:
ALA-accredited masters
degree in library science or equivalent educational
attainment; strong
disciplinary background required, advanced degree in the
sciences
preferred;  1-3 years related experience;  in-depth
experience with
print and electronic resources in the sciences; familiarity
with science
teaching and research software;  knowledge of current and
emerging
information technology; excellent interpersonal and
communication skills
and ability to work independently in a flexible team
environment. Hiring
