Collection Development Manager. Kitsap Regional Library, one of the most
innovative public libraries in the country and located in Washington's
scenic Kitsap Peninsula, is looking for a dynamic Collection Development
Manager. We're looking for a minimum of 3 years professional library
experience, including at least two years of progressively responsible
experience in collection development activities. Do terms like OCLC, MARC,
AACR2, Z39.50 have meaning in your life? Got an MLS sheepskin from an ALA
accredited college or university? Can you balance your checkbook, or, more
importantly, our checkbook? We deposit about $900,000 in the bank each
year for purchasing adult materials in print, non-print, and online
formats. Does playing hardball when negotiating with vendors sound like
fun? Our organization believes in the Art of the Deal-we want maximum
value for minimum outlay when expending taxpayer money. The person who
gets this job will take a leadership position in re-organizing the way
Collection Management is done at KRL, with an eye toward providing great
service for our customers. You need to be able to analyze, develop
strategic plans, budget, and motivate. The department currently has 5FTE
who will report to, and be evaluated by you. Ok. If you're still reading

$45,000 per year. In addition to 12 days of sick leave and 12 paid
