The CODES Dual Assignments Discussion Group will meet on Saturday, June
26, at 9:30 am to consider the evaluation of library materials selectors.
Employee evaluations are always difficult, but they can be especially
problematic for selectors because many librarians involved in collection
development do not directly report to the collection management librarian.
The discussion will focus on the problems inherent in evaluations that
cross departmental lines and will suggest possible solutions to them.
Steve Alleman, collection management librarian, University of New Orleans,
and chair of CODES Collection Evaluation Techniques Committee, will
introduce the discussion.
