Cross-posted; please excuse any duplications.

I am a presenter at the ALCTS Business of Acquisitions Preconference at ALA
in New Orleans later this month. I have been asked to talk about the
effect of consortial activity of libraries' acquisitions budgets. If you
could take
a few minutes to answer the brief survey below (please excuse also the informal
nature and brevity of same), it would be extremely helpful. All
responses will be kept confidential, of course, and no individual libraries
will be identified. Please send survey responses directly to me at:

alexandera_at_lhl.lib.mo.us

I will be happy to share my findings. Thanks!

ELECTRONIC RESOURCES SURVEY

1. Type of library (academic, public, medical, special, etc.)

2. Size of materials budget (all formats)

	- current fiscal year
	- five years ago

3. Percentage of materials budget dedicated to electronic resources
(all types, including CD-ROM and other local databases, as well
as access to Web-based products; full-text products as well as
A&I services and other finding tools)

	- current fiscal year
	- five years ago

4. Of the electronic resources budget identified in Question 3, how
much of that amount goes toward consortial purchases?

	- current fiscal year
	- five years ago

5. In addition to (or instead of) your library's electronic resources budget,
do you also use some sort of central funding source for consortial purchases?
If so, what is the source of that funding (state appropriation, consortium
budget, etc.) and for how long has your library had access to it?

6. If your answer to Question 5 was "yes", how long have you belonged to a
consortium that provided central funding for electronic resources?

7. To how many different consortia (or other cooperative library groups such
as regional networks) that acquire electronic resources does
your library belong?

	- current fiscal year
	 - five years ago
