	WICHITA STATE UNIVERSITY
	Reference Librarian, Social Sciences Team (Search Reopened)

Responsibilities:   Assists users at a general reference desk (including
some evenings and weekends) and provides  general library instruction to
groups and individuals. Additional responsibilities include developing
library instruction materials in print and electronic formats, home page
design, some collection development, community outreach, proposing
innovative reference services, and expanding and improving existing
reference services and reference area projects.  Participates in
department, library and university activities.

Qualifications:  Required:  ALA-accredited MLS degree; a degree in the
social sciences;  demonstrated oral and written communication skills;
demonstrated ability to use library technology including the Internet; a
commitment to public service; successful experience with diverse
populations, and a commitment to diversity.  Preferred: an additional
graduate degree in a relevant field.

Salary and Benefits: Minimum salary is $27,000 depending on experience and
qualifications. Twelve month appointment.  Tenure eligible.  Librarians at
Wichita State University enjoy faculty rank, privileges, and
responsibilities.  Choice of retirement plans, including TIAA-CREF.  Blue
Cross/Blue Shield or HMO.  Twenty-two days annual leave.
