The Collection Development Librarians of Academic Libraries Discussion Group
will take up the topic COLLECTING AT THE MARGINS: SOCIAL PROTEST AND
COUNTERCULTURE MATERIALS.
JULIE HERRADA, Assistant Curator, Labadie Collection, University of
Michigan and MARK YOFFE, Curator, International Counterculture Archive,
George Washington University, will describe their collection development
activities.
MARK SANDLER, Head, Research Services, University of Michigan, will share
his thoughts on how marginal materials fit into the larger collection
development picture. This IS a discussion group, and I hope collection
developers interested in "collecting life as it passes" (from NYPL's
collection
development policy, perhaps a paraphrase) will bring their questions and
ideas.
Saturday, January 30
2:00-4:00pm
Sheraton, Flower Room
