We are planning how to complete our retrospective conversion process for a
research collection of about 30,000 books, and hope you can help.
Currently, about 95% of our holdings have been automated. We have
identified 2 options for completing the project:
1. Check the shelf list against the OPAC, and weed all cards for books
which have been entered onto the system. (Then pull the books from the
shelves and complete retro cataloguing)
2. Work through the shelves, checking for books which do not have a
barcode. Pull these as we go and do the cataloguing bits.
Do you have any other suggestions? We are looking for cost and
labour-saving options.
Many thanks,
Lynley Stone
