I am working on a paper for the Library Research Roundtable program at
ALA in DC. This is one of those practical, experiential matters in
which you know that everyone generally operates the same way, but you
have no studies to substantiate it. In a terribly unscientific study, I
would appreciate as many answers as I can get to the one following
question:

In expending monograph funds for one budget year, what do you estimate
the percentage breakdown would be for purchases by imprint year?

	current year*________
	last 3-4 years_______
	last 5-7 years________
	retrospective older than 8 yrs._______

I am defining current year as the present calender year imprint and the
previous calendar year imprint, e.g. the current year for right now
would be 1998 and 1997 imprints. In other words, the current year could
be anywhere from 12-almost 24 months.
If anyone wishes to argue with my cutoff for retrospective feel free.

Please reply to perrault_at_luna.cas.usf.edu If I get sufficient responses
I will summarize results for the list.
