Greetings COLLLDV-L,
I am a graduate student in librarianship writing my master's paper about
cooperative collection development at UNC-CH and Duke University. The
inspiration for the paper germinated from an account of Charles Brownson's
suspicions about "vanilla" collecting (too many core titles) in academic
libraries, perhaps not adequately supporting "spumoni" (vareigated and
specialized) academic programs. (I hope I have it right; this was word of
mouth.)
I have been trying to track down an email for Mr. Brownson and these
original messages in COLLDV, so far without success. If anyone has
this information I would very much appreciate your help. Thanks,
Christiane E. Voisin
