Data on Cost Savings

I would be very interested in finding out what sort of percentage savings
could be realised by outsourcing.  Have any public libraries who have
outsourced for more than a year found quantifiable savings? Do they vary?
Have savings increased over time ?

  I am most interested in selection outsourcing savings since calculating
the cost of selection of an item seems an elusive figure...

Any comments or data gratefully received.. please email direct and I can
summarize for the list if useful. Thanks!
