[Partly in response to COLLDV-L no. 1603, partly a separate question.]

I am currently working on a monograph on the changes in academic library
collections for the time period 1985-95. I would very much like to see
the responses to Bonnie Jean Cox's request. I think we all suspect that
the situation she described is very common these days. I would like
some data to verify that suspicion.Perhaps we could have some public
discussion of this issue with whatever data people have to contribute.
I also have another issue to raise and would like the same kind of
discussion. State or regional mounting of electronic indexes and
full-text sources is becoming increasingly common. It concerns me that
the use of these electronic sources may not be being tracked. What
kinds of use data are libraries getting from these networked resources
and are they using the data for CD purposes. I think we would all be
interested in these issues but responses just to me are fine.
