The Center for Research Libraries operates a listserv called NEWSPAPERS.
The purpose of NEWSPAPERS is to be a forum for continuing discussions about
improving access to global newspapers. (These discussions were focused and
advanced during the Symposium on Access to and Preservation of Global
Newspapers, held May 27-28, 1997, at the Library of Congress.)
The NEWSPAPERS listserv will be a one of the means to develop an action
plan that describes how the North American research library community can
work toward comprehensive coverage of global newspapers, ensure adequate
preservation programs, guarantee the availability of retrospective files
through archiving and maintenance of collections. NEWSPAPERS also will be
a communications tool for activities of working groups related to global
newspapers projects.
The owner of the list is Linda Naru, CRL's Director of Member Services
(naru_at_crlmail.uchicago.edu). Please contact the owner if you have questions
