The ALCTS--SS Continuing Education Committee presents:
CONSORTIAL LICENSING: IMPLICATIONS FOR COOPERATIVE
COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT
Sunday, June 29 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Someone once said that "cooperation was an unnatural act." If doing
something naturally means doing it easily, then library cooperation has
been shown to be unnatural. The question is, is there anything about the
digital environment that makes digital cooperation any easier than it has
been in the print environment?
Our panelists will discuss participation in multitype consortia and provide
guidelines to help institutions evaluate, plan, and implement consortial
arrangements.
Speakers: Anthony Ferguson, Columbia University; Patricia Iannuzzi,
Florida International University; and Karen A. Schmidt, University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign.
