We are working on our self-study assessment in preparation for our
accreditation visit next year. I am interested in how other libraries
and collection development librarians have worked through this process in
reviewing their collections.

All suggestions are welcomed.

Many thanks,

Our institution will soon undergo the site visitation phase of its
regional accreditation review. Among other things, the Northwest
Accreditation Association outline says,"opportunities are provided
for faculty, staff, and students to participate in the planning
and development" of collection management policies/procedures/regulations.

Obviously we want to be able to address this issue as a part of the
accreditation process, but also because doing so should make for a better
collection managment statement.

How are other libraries providing such opportutnities for their
stakeholders or, at least thinking about getting such input? Beyond this,
what works well and what doesn't?

In particular, we have talked about focus groups and would appreciate any
comments on this appraoch.

Other suggestions are, of course, welcome too.

Peace and Thanks,
