The University of Saskatchewan Libraries is embarking on a CDN$920,000.
serials cancellation project. This figure represents 23% of our current
serials acquisitions budget and the shortfall that we would be facing were
we to do nothing about the rising serials costs. Our last such project
was in 1993, at which time the cut was $550,000.
We would like to know of other serials cancellation projects, especially
in academic and research libraries, either in progress or recently
completed. What percentage of the total serials and total acquistions
budget was/is being cancellled? Is there information on the project
available of a web site? [We are planning one.]
