NOTSL will hold its Spring Meeting, “Connections That Matter: Exploring Library-Vendor Partnerships”, on Friday, May 1, 2026 at CCPL Parma-Snow Branch in Parma, OH.

Hannah Rosen, Director of Strategic and Professional Development, Ohionet, will present “Library Licensing ABCs: Accessibility, Bots, and Consolidation”. Libraries are constantly navigating a shifting licensing landscape. This presentation will discuss some of the most pressing issues to affect library licensing this year: accessibility expectations, AI bots, and consolidation, both within libraries and publishers/service providers.

Kevin Bauer, Acquisitions Librarian, The Ohio State University, will present “Direct from the Director: Licensing Films from Directors and Small Distributors.” Discovering films is easier than ever but acquiring access directly from directors and small distributors can be more complicated. This presentation will cover how to successfully license, purchase and provide access to films acquired directly from directors or small distributors.

Louise Kidder, Head of Acquisitions & Resource Sharing, University of Houston, will present “Farewell & Welcome: A Challenging Change in Subscription Services.” This session will provide discussion of a complex and collaborative subscription agent service transfer project, including steps taken, impacts of the project on the work of the department, and lessons learned.

“Public Libraries and Vendors” will feature a panel of public library acquisitions librarians who will discuss their relationships with vendors. The panel includes: Emily Keller, Reference Librarian, Parkersburg and Wood County Public Library, Megan Villano, Library Collections Director, Stark Library, Sandy Jelar Elwell, Acquisitions Manager, Cleveland Public Library, and Wendy Bartlett, Collection Development and Acquisitions Manager, Cuyahoga County Public Library.

Claire Eichmann, Senior Collection Development Manager, GOBI Library Solutions from EBSCO will present “How to Buy Books – Because You’d Be Surprised How Difficult It Can Be”. This presentation will provide a book vendor's perspective on the current ebook and print landscape, collection development tools for new title discovery, and the future of book buying.

Registration is now open for “Connections That Matter: Exploring Library-Vendor Partnerships.” All are welcome; membership is conferred on all attendees.
