Are you doing something interesting or innovative with collection analysis? What types of tools and analyses do you use to get the best results? How do the results inform your work?
The editors of a forthcoming book to be published by ALA Editions currently entitled "Next-Level Collection Analysis" are seeking chapter proposals from librarians and library staff at all types of libraries.
Some topics we're looking for include:
* Why is collection analysis important?
* What is collection analysis?
* Why is collection analysis important?
* History/overview of collection analysis tools & methods
* Case Studies on Methods & Tools for Analysis
* What tools are you using?
* What methods are you using?
* What do you get out of these analyses? How do they inform your work?
* Special Topics in Collection Analysis
* Data bias
* Crafting a data narrative
* Assessing the aftermath of "clear your shelves" initiatives
We are also open to proposals on collection analysis not covered by the above.
Proposals should be 100 to 300 words, explaining what you would like to cover. Please submit proposals to both editors, Sara Duff (sara.duff_at_ucf.edu<mailto:sara.duff_at_ucf.edu>) and Lauren DeVoe (led2150_at_columbia.edu<mailto:led2150_at_columbia.edu>), by February 10th. First-time and veteran authors alike are welcome to submit!
