E-Resource Assessment: Flexible, Transparent, and Sustainable Strategies

Wednesday, October 25, 2023

2pm Eastern (11am Pacific | 12pm Mountain | 1pm Central)

Cost: Free

Description: This webinar will discuss strategies for implementing an e-resource collection assessment plan that is flexible, transparent, and sustainable. With the actively changing scholarly communication landscape, tight collections budgets, and limited staff time it is important to consider efficient ways in which we can capture and convey data about expensive electronic resources on a regular basis. Whether you are starting from scratch or tweaking your collection assessment procedures, this webinar will explore the considerations necessary to implement a plan that works for your institution. This webinar will dive into data types, assessment tools, approaches to communication, and future challenges to e-resource assessment.

About the Presenter: Taylor Ralph is the Collection Assessment Librarian at Oregon State University, where she has been employed since 2021. Previously, she worked as an Acquisitions and Research & Instruction Librarian. Taylor earned her Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her Bachelor's Degree in History and English Literature from Marquette University. She is an active member of CORE in the American Library Association. Her work mostly involves analyzing collections statistics, tracking trends and data, and promoting materials to the OSU community.
