Would you like to gain experience speaking at a professional conference, but don’t want to commit to a full session?
The NASIG Mentoring and Student Outreach Committee invites proposals for the Student Spotlight Sessions for the 38th NASIG Conference in Pittsburgh, PA, from May 22 to 25, 2023. The Student Spotlight Sessions will be held on May 23, from 4:00 to 5:30 PM. Presenters must be available to give their Spotlight Session in-person during that time.
The Student Spotlight Sessions will consist of up to eight five-minute presentations by current (or recently-graduated) library or information science students. Student Spotlight Sessions may highlight research projects, internship/practicum experiences, workflow problem-solving ideas, or other topics of interest to the NASIG community. Proposals should name any particular products or services that are integral to the session. As a matter of NASIG policy, however, Spotlight Sessions should not be used as a venue to promote or attack any product, service, or institution. Submit a single paragraph outlining your proposed title and content to mentoring_at_nasig.org [mailto:mentoring_at_nasig.org].
Proposals must be received by 5:00 PM EST on Thursday, March 30. Members of the Mentoring & Student Outreach Committee will evaluate proposals, and presenters will be notified of the status of their proposal by mid-April. (Note: presenters must be registered for the conference and student rates are available.)

Conference registration for students is $100 (through April 21, 2023).
