With our commitment to student success, scholarly research and inclusive excellence in mind, the University of Delaware Library, Museums and Press is seeking a collaborative, innovative and thoughtful leader to serve as Head, Cataloging and Metadata Department. The successful candidate will provide leadership both in managing current staff and services and in collaboratively envisioning and implementing evolving services of this user-oriented department.
The Cataloging and Metadata Department is comprised of a 12-member team including 6 librarians and 6 non-exempt staff that provides cataloging and metadata support for the Library, Museums and Press in all formats, including monographs, serials, databases, videos, multimedia and ephemera. The department consists of four areas: original cataloging, special collections cataloging, copy cataloging, and metadata management and participates in OCLC Member Merge Project and is a member/participant in NACO. Faculty, staff, students and other scholars depend on accurate and timely access to research materials in a variety of languages that are cataloged by the department.
