Assistant Head of Cataloging/Metadata

Binghamton University Libraries seeks enthusiastic candidates for the role
of Assistant Head of Cataloging and Metadata. This tenure-track library
faculty position participates in the planning, implementation, and
evaluation of cataloging operations and workflows. The Assistant Head of
Cataloging/Metadata also serves as supervisor for Cataloging staff and
performs original and complex cataloging for materials in various formats,
as well as metadata for our digital repositories. Binghamton University is
a member of the SUNY Consortium and participates in a shared cataloging
environment.

Required qualifications include an ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent,
experience in cataloging and metadata services including RDA, LCSH, MARC21
formats for bibliographic and authority records, and supervisory and
training experience. Salary and rank will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits, including TIAA/CREF.
