Hi Amie,

We use Emery Pratt for older and out-of-print books, particularly for replacements, when we don't think GOBI will be able to supply. We have been very satisfied when Emery Pratt can provide a book. They are responsive and easy to work with. As will surprise no one, when dealing these types of books it often takes a while for us to receive orders, but that is just the nature of the work.

For the truly difficult to find OOP books, we let Emery Pratt give it a try, then if they are unable to supply we will order through ABEbooks/Marketplace or Alibris.

Best wishes,

Glenn

Subject: FW: Alternate vendors for older books

Good morning,

CMU Libraries currently uses Proquest Rialto to place firm orders for books. However, if a book is more than a couple of years old it seems impossible for them to acquire the title for us. What do other libraries do for books that are published 2-5 years ago, what book jobber do you use? Amazon is nice, but the extra work that it causes is problematic for a small staff to manage. Does anyone use Emery Pratt for these publications? We are a customer and have been for a long time, but we use them specifically for acquiring children's award books but could expand if they can handle the issue at hand.

What suggestions do you have?
