Hi Amie,

We have had great success in finding older and out of print titles with Midwest Library Service out of Missouri. They are very responsive and go the extra mile to track down copies of OP or older titles. We're able to give them a price limit and expected condition which they always honor. We are impressed and very pleased with their ability to locate and supply good to great condition copies of OP or older titles we're looking to add or replace in our collection.

Subject: FW: Alternate vendors for older books

Good morning,

CMU Libraries currently uses Proquest Rialto to place firm orders for books. However, if a book is more than a couple of years old it seems impossible for them to acquire the title for us. What do other libraries do for books that are published 2-5 years ago, what book jobber do you use? Amazon is nice, but the extra work that it causes is problematic for a small staff to manage. Does anyone use Emery Pratt for these publications? We are a customer and have been for a long time, but we use them specifically for acquiring children's award books but could expand if they can handle the issue at hand.

What suggestions do you have?
