Greetings to ACQNET subscribers, Many thanks to Jenny Levine of ALA and others from the former Acquisitions Section of ALCTS for their support of ACQNET in these past few years. I do hope that as CORE continues to develop their organization, that an acquisitions contingent will once again emerge so that acquisitions specialists will have a place to gather. In the meantime, Eric Lease Morgan and I have found a new home for ACQNET and in the coming months will recruit help with moderation and maintenance of the list. Being involved with this activity is great service work and is an opportunity for leadership and recognition in the field. So if anyone is interested in helping out, please contact me. As it turns out, the timing is rather fortuitous as I am on the brink of retirement and will be able to take on new activities in my spare time. I was not expecting to return to ACQNET, but in order to save it from oblivion, it seemed necessary to step up. As Jenny mentioned, there will be a short interruption in service as the cutover takes place. This is not the 1st time this list has moved and we know we can get it back up and running very soon. If anyone has any concerns, questions or great ideas for the future (!) please feel free to reach out. Onward!
