Good morning, We are developing a “Special collection” and the first phase is to collect the materials that are already available whether in the library or in any department at LAU. Our second plot is to head start to the library purchases with respect to this Special Collection. I am seeking your feedback on whether we should favor any specific format (titles in print or in eformat?). There is no doubt that the future of education will witness a greater demand for online learning, however, print resources provide unique features. As artifacts, they also offer a treasure trove of historical and cultural information that can only be accessed physically. Taking into consideration that special collection should reflect the full range and nuance of global cultures, past and present, what is the current practice when it comes to developing such collection? Any advice is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
