We have been quarantining shipments for 72 hours. (March 2020 to March 2021 – ugh). I agree with others that the risk of transmission is exceptionally low. For us there is value in having the Acquisitions policy be consistent with what our Circulation and ILL folks do. They quarantine for 72 hours and so do we. This really isn’t a problem for Acquisitions. Our receiving person works in the library Mondays through Wednesdays. Campus distribution delivers only once a week now, on Wednesdays, so by the following Monday when she unpacks them, the quarantine period is over. Do you also quarantine them once unboxed?
