We have a lease program through Baker and Taylor. We pay a yearly fee and
it entitles us to a quota of 25 per month - which works out to 20-25 books
a month.

Every 3 months or so, I pull the older titles to send back - I have the
option of keeping titles and I will base that on circulation and subject
and if we don't have it already in our collection. We don't have an
electronic component to the program. I have several people who help me
select - I send the monthly list to my group and then place the order on
the B&T Title Source platform.

The best thing about managing the collection is I pick the books I want to
read and get the title first.

It works very well for us - we have been using B&T for years but I'm not
sure they still have the program for academic libraries - it's more for
public and I think they phased out academic but we were grandfathered in.

It's a very popular program - we pay for it out of a dedicated gift fund.
