The Rubenstein Library - Duke's special collections library - has its own Technical Services department that is physically adjacent to general Tech Services. I process the orders for Rubenstein, and with few exceptions have the shipments sent directly to the Rubenstein Tech Services division. This is primarily to ensure that the often quite expensive material is unpackaged in a cautious way and to avoid any items being accidentally processed as general collections material (barcoding, etc.)

We have the materials shipped to the Acquisitions unit. After we receive the items and process the invoices, the items are sent down to Special Collections for "packaging" decisions. They will go to Cataloging at some point for full records.

Hello,
If your Acquisitions unit handles ordering for Special Collections, could you tell me if the materials are shipped to the Acquisitions unit or to the Special Collections unit? Thanks.
