Julie,
We normally request that Special Collections materials come to Acquisitions and then go over to Special Collections. We have made some exceptions for rare materials that required special handling. In that case, the Rare Books Librarian has received the materials and verified receipt to Acquisitions before the invoice is processed. Generally, Acquisitions only orders and receives Special Collection materials and they are sent over to the Special Collections Cataloging Unit uncatalogued and unprocessed. - Sincerely, Kate Seago, University of Kentucky.

Subject: [ALCTS-acqnet] Ordering for Special Collections
Hello,
If your Acquisitions unit handles ordering for Special Collections, could you tell me if the materials are shipped to the Acquisitions unit or to the Special Collections unit? Thanks.
