Mississippi State University Libraries is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor (Acquisitions Librarian).

Essential duties and responsibilities:*
* Establishes staff and unit goals for one-time acquisitions;
* Supervises acquisitions unit, including the supervision and training of
three staff members and student workers in ordering, receiving and
invoicing one-time purchase materials;
* Manages and provides reports for annual departmental monographic
allocations; instructs library liaisons in the use of Gobi, the library's
book order system;
* Reconciles various acquisitions spreadsheets to ensure expenditures
are correctly charged to university accounts;
* Works collaboratively with other librarians to create solutions to
workflow problems;
* Assists Coordinator of Electronic Resources and Acquisitions in
collection development activities;
* Serves as vendor contact for one-time purchase vendors;
* Meets library and university requirements for promotion and tenure in
the areas of librarianship, research, service and collegiality

Minimum Qualifications:*
* Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program;
* 1-3 years of relevant library experience, including at least one (1)
year of experience with the management and access of monograph
resources in print and electronic formats;
* Supervisory and management experience;

Preferred qualifications:
* Academic Library experience, supervisory experience;
* Additional graduate degree;
* Experience with the acquisition modules of the SirsiDynix Workflows
integrated library systems;
* Knowledge of cataloging (print and electronic) and MARC formats;
* Experience with spreadsheets and databases, preferably MS Excel
