If the Strong Museum of Play doesn't work out, you might want to ask
at the Internet
Archive <https://archive.org/about/>. While it has a digital focus, they
are collecting some physical items (books at least) to preserve and might
take them. And if they don't want them, they might be able to provide
additional leads.
Or maybe check with the American Game Collectors Association now called the
Association for Games & Puzzles International <http://www.agpc.org/>.
