Collection Development and Interlibrary Loan Librarian

The Millsaps College Library seeks a Collection Development and Interlibrary Loan Librarian responsible for Collection Development, Interlibrary Loan services, and additional duties in Technical and Public Services.

The Collection Development and Interlibrary Loan Librarian reports to the College Librarian and works closely with library staff. This professional position consults with faculty and library staff to select and order library materials, works with vendors and processes invoices for payment, shares responsibilities in acquisitions and serials, serves as a library liaison, and coordinates Interlibrary Loan services. All librarians serve at the reference desk and rotate day, night, and weekend shifts.

The library has five professionals and two staff members serving a college population of approximately 1,000 students, faculty and staff. The collection contains 200,000 print volumes, a wide variety of online resources, the College Archives and the Mississippi United Methodist Archives, and a number of special collections.

Librarians at Millsaps College have twelve-month appointments, faculty rank and titles, but are not tenured. Full time benefits eligible position including TIAA-CREF and partially paid health insurance. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:

Required: ALA-accredited master's degree, aptitude for detail-oriented work, strong organizational and communication skills, excellent public service attitude, and ability to work in a small, close-knit environment with library staff, faculty, and students.

Preferred: Academic library experience.
