Hi Stacey,
We send books to Thrift or recycle (options others have mentioned), but in
terms of a library booksale, we realized a few years ago how much less
complicated it would be simply to give the books away rather than to
organize a booksale in the building. We put unwanted books on a table near
the circ desk with a sign that says "Free to a good home," and you would be
astonished how quickly they disappear! People love free stuff! Holding a
booksale was a nuisance for us, a lot of work for a very small financial
gain. Giving books away requires far less time and energy that could be
better used, and it generates good will from students and faculty! I'm
here to advocate for simplifying this process!
