Hi, Houston PL does not accept physical replacements for lost/damaged items at all, not for AV items or print. Staff handling returns are supposed to check condition and item count before checking in AV, which helps catch things that come back missing/mismatched discs, including anything that doesn't appear the be an 'original' piece. Our Sirsi Symphony item records have a parts-count field and we place an item count sticker on the container as well. Hello everyone, A couple of questions regarding bootlegs. 1) Do any of you know of any good book or publication that provides expert advice at identifying bootleg DVDs and CDs? (other formats as well, but my main concern are those two). 2) Those of you who handle gifts or replacements: Sometimes we have patrons who bring in replacement copies for items they have lost.
