The Ina Dillard Russell Library seeks applications for a tenure-track Acquisitions & Cataloging Librarian at the rank of Assistant Professor. Reporting to the Associate Director of Collection & Resource Services, this position supports and is responsive to the diverse teaching, learning, and research needs of students and faculty in all academic disciplines. The role of the position is to coordinate the ordering of print monographs, ebooks, and media, to track departmental spending, to maintain the library database, and to perform complex copy and original cataloging in RDA using OCLC and Alma.
Ina Dillard Russell Library serves the Milledgeville campus of Georgia College and State University in central Georgia. Serving an FTE of 6540, the Library provides both traditional and innovative services to undergraduates, graduates, and faculty in a charming Southern small town setting. Georgia College is the Public Liberal Arts College of Georgia and the library is the hub of campus. Georgia College is a member of COPLAC, the University System of Georgia and the state-wide GALILEO consortium. Along with the USG Libraries, Russell Library is in the process of migrating library systems from Voyager to Alma. The Collection & Resource Services department has the opportunity to make transformational changes in its operations as part of this transition.

Minimum requirements include an ALA-accredited Masters degree in library and information science. Two years professional or paraprofessional academic library experience in technical services. Working knowledge of an integrated library system, bibliographic utilities, and library networking practices and standards; working knowledge of MARC formats, AACR2 and RDA. Experience working cooperatively with people from diverse backgrounds.
