I don't think this is what you have in mind, but years ago I used a line
graph of monthly order counts to illustrate to the selectors and catalogers
how the peaks and valleys looked in a year. With several years of data (a
line per year on the chart) there was a clear pattern of *extra* heavy
ordering twice a year same time every year, but fluctuations at other
times. Not really news to anyone internal, but interesting to see as a
graph.
