Hi Janet,
I have not dealt with this particular organization but judging from their
website http://www.jewishstudies.lt/ they look legit.
I know that infrequently when we have had to order items from small vendors
in out-of-the-way-locales we have had to wire transfer the payment because
the local bank with which they deal either cannot handle checks drawn on
American banks or in so doing the vendor would loose a lot of money with
bank fees charged to handle these checks.
