Hello Andrée,
Carolyn is correct- notepad will work for this. There is a free text editor commonly used by coders called Notepad++ with additional features that you may find helpful. https://notepad-plus-plus.org/

Hi Andree,
I think that this is just a plain text file; probably Notepad would work.

Subject: [ALCTS-acqnet] Software for reading, editing, creating EDI / EDIFACT files
Hello Acquisitions and e-resources colleagues,
I've decided I want to learn more about EDIFACT order and invoice files, so that I can troubleshoot them when needed and be more a knowledgeable acquisitions librarian in general.
Can anyone recommend any (preferably free) software that allows for EDIFACT files to be read, edited, created?
Any other advice in general?
Thanks so much,
Andrée
