At our library we use the Recommend-a-Title web feature
<https://www.data-n-stuff.com/webcgi/webbatch.exe?patronnotify/pn_selection.web+BEGIN+NEW+asburyseminary.edu+ATS>
of JTacq <http://www.jtdata.com/jtacq.html> Freeware. Requesters are
first required to create an account. Once they are logged in they can do
author, title and general keyword searches. ISBN and Amazon ASIN numbers
will work in the general keyword search. When they find the title they want
to request, they can add a note or just hit the "Submit" button.

The request is then transmitted to the JTacq client Patron Request queue.
The queue is downloaded and the list of requests are electronically
searched to determine if any titles are already owned by the library. The
list is then either sent to designated selectors using JTacq's "Selections"
web feature or a broadcast search is done of designated Vendor databases
(Amazon, Amazon used books, ABEBooks, B&T, YBP, etc.) to identify the
vendor with the lowest purchase price.

These are only a few of JTacq's many rich feature. It baffles me why more
libraries aren't using it.
