This position is located in the Library-Archives Division of the *Wisconsin
Historical Society * <http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/>located on the
campus of the University of Wisconsin Madison. The Wisconsin Historical
Society holds one of the premier research collections on North American
history in the United States, with library holdings of 3.9 million items
and Archives of 110,000 cubic feet. The Library-Archives Division is a
depository for both federal and state government publications and is the
home of the State Archives. In addition to its excellent Wisconsin
collections, the Library-Archives Divisions is widely known for its
genealogical collections, newspapers and periodicals holdings, special
collections, and archival collections in mass communications, social
action, and organized labor.



*Job Duties:*   Under the general supervision of the Administrator of the
Library-Archives Division, the Library-Archives Acquisitions Section
Supervisor and Collection Development Coordinator manages and coordinates
all collection development and acquisition activities in the
Library-Archives Division.

*Special Notes:*   A criminal background check will be conducted prior to
an offer of employment to determine if the circumstances of any conviction
may be related to the job. Verification of academic degrees will be
conducted prior to an offer of employment.


*A Well Qualified Candidate Will Have: *A graduate degree from an
accredited school of Library, Archival and Information Science

A minimum of 3 years professional experience with research library
acquisitions methods and procedures

Experience supervising and motivating staff in a Library or Archives
environment

Ability to work effectively with diverse user communities

Experience in an academic or research environment

Experience with budget preparation and budget oversight

Ability to work productively, both independently and with a team

Ability to give presentations to professional groups and members of the
public

Excellent organizational, problem solving, interpersonal, and communication
skills
