Hello Stephanie and all,
We are also migrating to Alma/Primo from Aleph, and have completed our migration forms (working on the configuration form now). We are migrating our acquisitions data to take advantage of the analytics and reporting functionality, in addition to the workflow needs for looking up historical information. There may be some circumstances where "migrating lighter" makes sense, but those were the decisions we made for supporting those data needs.
Good to know that a bunch of us will be migrating this season (we're aiming to go live mid-August).
Better together....

Subject: [ALCTS-acqnet] Migration to Ex Libris Alma/Primo
Apologies for cross-posting.
Hello,
Our library is currently in the process of migrating from Millennium to Ex Libris Alma/Primo. We are right at the point of filling out migration forms and planning for a data extract. I'm only peripherally involved with acquisitions so I am no expert in this area. It has been suggested to us (not by Ex Libris) that we should not migrate any acquisitions data including order records and vendor data. We will be creating a new fund structure so we aren't concerned about having to manually add that data. However, we are very concerned at the potentially unnecessary burden that manually transferring our other acquisitions data will cause on an already over-burdened staff.
Does anyone have experience with this type of migration? Staff are pretty worried that not migrating this information is going to make this transition much more difficult than it should be . If anyone can confirm that with some anecdotal evidence, we would greatly appreciate it. I'm trying to gather information to support our appeal.
Thank you!
