We have a few in our collection. And, I personally own about a dozen at home. I think they are wonderful teaching tools for faculty and excellent learning tools for students who need a little something extra to supplement their coursework or for those of us who are simply life-long learners. They are taught my some exceptional college/university faculty from around the country (world?). Graphics are always on-point and helpful. I would recommend them.

Subject: [ACQNET-L] Your opinion on The Great Courses DVDs
A few of our faculty are increasingly asking for our Library to purchase content from The Great Courses. In the past, I have been reluctant to add these to our collection, but now I am questioning why I have that way of thinking. Does anyone else have an opinion on the respectability of these courses? Do you purchase these for your collections? Perhaps I am being too critical.
Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts,
