HI,
I've had a couple of requests come through for ebooks (e-textbooks, really) published by Sage and Jones & Bartlett. In both cases, one of the methods to buy the ebooks was through VitalSource Bookshelf or Kindle/Amazon (J&B has three other but similar vendors to choose from). Are any academic libraries out there buying Kindle ebooks? If so, how are you getting those to your patrons? We don't own Kindle readers so unless a patron can access an ebook via the Internet, we can't buy it. Similarly, if your library has bought ebooks through VitalSource or any other third-party platform provider, please let me know how that works for your library, especially regarding license agreements.

Thanks,
~Elizabeth
